The Telethon featured adoptable animals, heartwarming stories of animals rescued from abuse and neglect, and information on the Michigan Humane Society’s programs and services which impact tens of thousands of animals in need right here in our communities, each year.

I hope that you tuned in on Thursday, February 12 from 6:00 a.m. to shortly after 11:00 p.m. on WXYZ Channel 7 and “Shared the Love” with animals who desperately need your support! Presents its Second Annual Glass Slipper Ball, February 7, 2009

Guests enjoyed a night filled with mouthwatering signature hors d’oeuvres and desserts from some of the best chefs Metro Detroit has to offer. Entertainment was provided by the James Robinson Jazz Trio, Arthur Murray’s Dance Studio, Club Yesterday’s Dancers and the Chateau Band. The silent auction was a success due to the many generous supporters who donated some wonderful items. And to top it off, Charles Pugh from FOX 2 News was the Master of Ceremonies!

Zonta, with its noteworthy group of esteemed women, provide financial support and assistance to aid in improving the legal, educational, economic and professional status of women in Southfield , MI and its surrounding communities, including Highland Park . Proceeds from the event support the Wayne County Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner’s (WC SAFE) program, Zonta scholarships and various other community service programs.

Zonta International is a global organization with nearly 33,000 members from 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 66 countries.
